Vercel cost calculator

Copy the numbers from your Vercel dashboard's Usage tab. You'll see the estimated bill line by line, what's driving it, how to cut each part, and, as one example, what the same traffic might cost on Cloudflare.

Cloudflare is just one example for comparison, not a recommendation. Every project has different needs. Depending on yours, the right answer might be fixing your setup on Vercel, moving to Cloudflare or AWS, or simply a private VPS. That gets planned for your app specifically.

Biggest cost drivers and how to cut them

Estimates only. Vercel charges some transfer at higher rates outside the US and Europe, and Cloudflare CPU time isn't exactly comparable to Vercel's. Moving also takes work, and often fixing the setup on Vercel saves most of the money anyway.

    How the estimate works

Pro costs $20 a month for each deploying seat and comes with $20 of usage credit. CDN requests and Fast Data Transfer are covered by Flat Rate CDN, the default for new Pro teams since September 2026: 1 TB and 1 million requests are included, then tiers of $20, $100 and $300 a month cover 10, 50 and 150 million requests with 50 TB of transfer. The calculator picks the smallest tier that fits. Above the top tier, it bills all CDN usage on demand at $2 per million requests and $0.15 per GB.

Everything else is billed from the first unit at Vercel's US East rates, its cheapest region. Other regions cost more: Active CPU up to 73% more, and origin transfer up to seven times as much. The $20 credit comes off that metered usage. We assume it doesn't cover the CDN tier fee.

    About the Cloudflare comparison

The Cloudflare number is there only to show how much hosting prices can differ for the same traffic. It isn't the answer for every app. Some apps are best left on Vercel with a better setup. Some fit Cloudflare or AWS. Others are cheapest and simplest on a private VPS with a fixed monthly price, especially apps with steady traffic, background jobs, long-running processes, or a database next to the app. The right plan depends on your traffic, your stack, your team and how much you want to manage yourself.

For the example, the Cloudflare figure assumes a Next.js app running on Workers (for example with OpenNext): the $5 Workers Paid plan, function calls beyond the 10 million included at $0.30 per million, and CPU time beyond 30 million milliseconds at $0.02 per million. Static files and bandwidth are free on Workers, which is where most of the difference comes from.
